Disagree with your flood zone designation? A FEMA Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA) can officially remove your structure from the flood zone!

A LOMA is Your Ticket to Savings!

A Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA) is a FEMA document issued to a structure that officially changes the flood zone rating.

The flood maps used by your lender and insurance company are created and published by FEMA. While FEMA makes every effort to produce accurate flood maps, they recognize that some properties will be erroneously placed within the flood zone. FEMA created the Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA) process to give homeowners a chance to provide better elevation data and dispute and change their flood zone designation.

LOMA Benefits

  • Eliminate Flood Insurance –Flood insurance becomes optional with a LOMA. If you decide to carry a flood policy, you will be eligible at the Preferred Risk Policy (PRP) rates.

  • Insurance Refund – Receive a 100% refund on your current flood insurance policy, and in some cases, up to 2 years of flood insurance premiums!
  • Increase Your Home Value – Having an approved LOMA increases the value of your home. Many prospective buyers won’t consider a home that requires costly flood insurance.
  • Price – Our LOMA preparation service ranges from $250 – $400 for most properties. The estimate you receive provides a range of pricing options to fit your budget, as well as a copy of the flood map showing your structure as it relates to the flood zone.
  • Fast LOMA Approvals – Get your approved LOMA in 1-10 business days, compared to the 60-day turnaround with traditional LOMA submissions. As licensed professionals, we have access to FEMA’s “eLOMA” tool, which often allows us to obtain same-day LOMAs!
  • Get Started – A FEMA Elevation Certificate is all that’s needed to get started. If you don’t have one, we have a range of options to assist in obtaining one.
